September Sales tax is up for all of Northwest Arkansas with the biggest gains in Bentonville. This means people are spending more money. I wish consumer confidence was the high in all areas of the nation. We are blessed here in Bentonville.
Looking at numbers for this October compared to last October, Bentonville had 17% increase, Bella Vista had 9%, Rogers at 2%, Springdale at 1.8%, and Fayetteville at .5%.
All of the cities mentioned above, except Bella Vista, collect a 2% sales tax. One percent is dedicated to bond debt. The other 1% is for the city’s operations. This report was based on the portion that goes to operations.
